Sometimes the battles are lost, to win the war in the end.

This lonely forgotten tomato jumped out at me while I was taking pictures today. It was eye-catching in the garden as a result of its bright orange hue. It had a different effect on me when I looked at it later. This verse and the powerful truth it contains about how we should see life is what struck me.

"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor"

(John 12:24-26).

I'm going to spend some time focusing on viewing my approach to life with a longer term view.

Often the way I see the world before me is through a worldly tinted lens.

"For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known" (1 Corinthians 13:12).
